LASA Queensland State Conference 2018 – “Changing Positions on the Field”

The relaxation of home care supply will change the way the game is played.  Amber Cartwright’s presentation focused on what indirect impact of the latest changes to the rule book has on retirement village operators and residential aged care providers.  The latest changes give retirement village operators an opportunity to move off the bench, however, what position best suits them? Is it becoming an approved provider and care provider? Or is it forming a partnership with an approved provider? Or do you stay on the sidelines? Whilst supply is still regulated for the residential aged care sector, providers are not immune to the growing competition and innovative service models being developed in the now “deregulated” home care sector and will also need to consider changing their position in the field. How can you position yourself to be competitive with more players on the field in this fast pace game?
